Greg Hesom
Head Pro and General Manager
Greg was born and raised in South Africa and emigrated to Canada along with my wife Alison in 2002. He took the opportunity when we moved to change careers from a financial advisor to golf professional. He was privileged to do his apprenticeship at Minnewasta under the excellent tutelage of Traci Zonneveld. He moved to the Head Pro position at Winkler in 2005 and was there for 17 years before moving back to Minnewasta in 2022 to take on the role of Head Pro.
Matt Loewen
Assistant Professional
Matt grew up in Winkler, during which time he enjoyed an illustrious junior golf career. He represented Canada twice with the Maple Leaf Junior Tour in Scotland and once in Mexico, which helped earn him a scholarship to Lindenwood University in Missouri. Matt played on the team for 4 years while earning his degree in Sports Management, and was honoured as an All-American Athlete. Matt started working for Greg as a high school student and has stuck with him for 18 years, serving his apprenticeship and qualifying as a class A CPGA Professional.
